The Sun Terra Lakes Community Development District is a local, special-purpose government entity authorized by Chapter 190 of the Florida Statutes as amended and established on November 7, 2025 by the Board of County Commissioners of Brevard County, Ordinance No. 25-20, as an alternative method of planning, acquiring, operating and maintaining community-wide improvements in planned communities.
The Sun Terra Lakes CDD is located entirely within the boundaries of Brevard County, Florida and covers approximately 1,082.242 acres of land. The real property within the boundaries of the District is generally located north and east of the Deer Run Subdivision, west of Babcock Road, and south of Willowbrook Street.
Upon the effective date of this Ordinance, the Sun Terra Lakes Community Development District will be duly and legally authorized to exist and exercise all of its powers as set forth in Sections 190.011 and 190.012(1), (3) & (4), Florida Statutes, and as otherwise provided by law. Furthermore, pursuant to Section 190.005(2Xd) and Subsection 79O.OL2(2), Florida Statutes, as amended, the Board of County Commissioners hereby consents to the exercise by the District Board of Supervisors of the special powers listed in Sections 190.012(2Xa) & (d), Florida Statutes.
